I KNOW ITS BEEN A MINUTE BUT HERES MY WEEKLY UPDATE!! I'm gonna keep this short and sweet so lets just dive right in.
The most Monday-ish Monday ever.

Today I started off my Monday the best way I know how, jamming to music while running errands. If you have been keeping up with my blog you know that I am currently working on furnishings for my Boss' apartment. Well we had a winning bed!!!! So I started my morning taking a little trip to Tampa to pick up pieces for the bed Mindy chose!! WOHOOOO. Some days you just really need to enjoy a long drive with loud music, ya know? Once I got back to the office, Mindy and I reviewed some more selections for her apartment and space planned some more in Revit on some better furniture options. Honestly doing this assignment has been an eye-opening experience for me. Because of the fact that Mindy does not do a lot of furniture packages for her clients, this was a chance for me to learn about different manufacturers and residential furniture lines.
After we reviewed all her project, we moved onto out Siesta Key project and started putting it in Revit so when we get to space plan her furniture (we are going a furniture package for her yes!!!) it will be all ready for us :)

TUESDAY

Well, this bed we picked out needs better directions when you buy it, because it did not say that the bed came in THREE DIFFERENT BOXES. Sold separately!!! So to start off my day I made my way over to Tampa once again to pick up the rest of the package for this bed before meeting with our Siesta Key client!!!
Moving forward, we picked out appliances and some plumbing fixtures today for our Siesta Key Condo renovation!! Wohoo!! We started at Monark for appliances, then made our way over to The Plumbing Place to scope out our options for this renovation. I think we should pick these cool dragon faucet, what do you guys think????
Also this place has a TON OF OPTIONS. I actually could have gotten lost!! But it made for a long, full day which I love :) I got familiar with all the different options of plumbing and appliances available today which was something new I had never dealt with!
After we finished up we grabbed lunch at a local favorite of ours, with THES BEST SALAD EVER. Then we started scoping out some good flooring options for this project at Oracle Floorings in Sarasota. So many beautiful flooring options and such great service.
Wednesday
OFF DAYYYYYY, so heres a picture of my puppy and a pretty sunset
THURSDAYYYYYY
Today I put my branding skills to use, you all know how much I love branding!!!!!!!!! I created a logo for a company called AutoHed and if i do say so myself, its pretty gnarly. Also, really happy I got to do this because I'm keeping my photoshop skills PERFECT, yes I am. After creating a few logo options, I ran so errands returning samples and picking up samples from local tile stores in town as well as grabbing a few new cabinet samples for our Siesta Key Condo. When they say less is more, they are wrong when it comes to samples. MORE IS ALWAYS BETTER AS LONG AS YOU DONT CONFUSE YOUR CLIENT. Pro tip for you all.
FRIYAYYYY ONCE AGAIN!!!!!
Today my morning started early because we are taking on a new client!!!!!! Wohoo!!!! BUT, sadly our client got sick so we had a change of plans. Instead of meeting with our new client, we took the morning to prepare for another meeting with our Siesta Key client, and collected some samples and got all of our ducks in a row to go to her condo! Another Pro Tip I learned from Mindy today, samples look different in EVERY SPACE. Every single space. The samples I attached above looked so beautiful in our office and in Oracle, where we picked them up. But once we got them to the condo, they just were not right!!!! It saddens me, BUT it gave us an opportunity to truly see that LIGHTING IS KEY. At the condo, we field measured the important spaces and reviewed our sample choices for the space, narrowing down the best samples for cabinets with FineCraft Cabinetry. Let me just tell you, our client is a hoot!!! She's adorable and she sure does have a good eye for design! She knows what she wants and she tells you, the best kind of client you can possibly have!!
I won't give you all the details of our long meeting, but after meeting with our client, we decided to call it a day and have a good weekend!!! BECAUSE IM SEEING LUKE BRYAN AND SAM HUNT THIS WEEKEND!!! WOHOOO!!!
Special Topic:
One of my favorite things about working for Mindy Webb Design is the fact that I work directly with her and all of the contractors and clients. Because she is just starting her business, I have been able to take on a lot of responsibility and collaborate with her and others in the business directly. Working with the contractor on our Leto Shores project has been so painless because of the way she communicated with him and then with me. We are able to problem solve simply and figure out exactly what needs to be done by each person. I feel as if Mindy spearheads the project and the design, then allowed me to give feedback and in some cases my feedback ends up turning into a conversation that leads to new ideas. Its an interesting dynamic but Im truly blessed to have a Mentor than actively teaches me and helps me to understand the business!
