HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY & thankful today for all of those who have lost their lives for our country and our irreplaceable freedom.
During my long weekend I spent time at the happiest place on earth... DISNEY WORLD, with my family. I wouldn't be telling you this if it was relevant, so guess what...STORY TIME! So durning my long weekend me and my family visited epcot and animal kingdom to try out the new Avatar ride (10/10, the 3 hour wait was worth it). During our time at Epcot we had lots of good food, drinks, and company...but my favorite part of the day was Test Track, the ride that has been there for as long as I can actually remember. Why, you ask? Well, because I never realized how much being an Interior Design major has actually made me pay attention to detail. So much so that my step sister called me out for PETTING A WALL. Yes, I was petting a wall because the wall covering was so mesmerizing!! So here's a picture of it for all of your inputs and a snippet of my weekend.
MONDAY- HOLIDAY BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP ME, I LOVE MY INTERNSHIP TOO MUCH
Even though Monday was a holiday, I decided that wasn't going to stop me, so REVIT WAS THE ANSWER. I spent the day placing flooring in the floor plans that I talked about on my first post (IF YOU HAVEN'T READ MY FIRST POST, CONSIDER THIS A SHOUT OUT, GO READ IT. now.) This is a huge project...8 bathrooms alone with 7000+ sq. ft. of work to do! So I needed a little motivation and of course that means Netflix and Revit. (someone write that down...thats genius for a shirt idea) Scandal was the show of choice for the day and I got right to work! After finishing the flooring I decided to create a quick little perspective of the master bathroom we are flipping just to give our clients a quick visual of how we all want it to turn out. And if I do say so myself...It came out looking BEAUTIFUL.

TUESDAY:
So our goal this week was to bring our lunches. We both meal prepped healthy, filling meals. Turns out theres no microwave at the office. We ended up going to lunch.
A for effort right?
Today was filled with reconfiguring the entry pattern for the Lito Key project and lots of samples. Mindy and I made our way over to Omicron Granite to meet with a rep about pool tiles and pavers for the pool area. While we were there we also looked through their large library of slabs for purchase in the back of the showroom.
Then... more samples!!! Ya'll I am going to be a sample pro by the end of the summer!!! Mindy and I went on a search for a really cool wall covering that would blow our clients away...and we found like 5. Snakeskin and a fun Husk look were the ultimate winners of the day, perfect mix of texture and color for a small, dark powder room. Tuesday is a little bit of a blur because it was so long with so much running around, but I think you get the gist of it all.
Wednesday:
SITE VISIT WOHOOOO!!!!
Mindy and I spent our morning (in the pouring down rain) scrambling around to get all of our ducks in a row, printing schedules, loading all the many many samples we have into the car (yes, it was a workout), and getting on the road to our clients home for a final review of samples.
When we got there, the custom door guy had already beat us there and started taking measurements as we chatted about the design of the door we wanted to put in and the finishes. Lemme just tell ya, this Mediterranean style home is going to blow your mind once all of this good stuff is done and set up! Its already such a beautiful home and I am super excited to come back and visit once all of the finishes and furnishings are complete.
After we walked through the home, room by room, loaded back up (leg day type of lifting) and headed back to the office...and the rain had stopped.
In that moment I was asking Florida why it had to rain on the way there and ruin my hair, rather than raining on the way home when it didn't matter what I looked like...just saying.
THURSDAY!!!!
Day off, needed a little rest after all of that HEAVY LIFTING!!!!
Only kinda kidding.
FINALLY FRIYAY, FAVORITE DAY
FEATURING A SPECIAL GUEST
After grabbing a quick bite to eat at the cutest little breakfast/lunch spot (yes, I took pictures), Mindy and I began filling in and finalizing the specification sheets for the Contractor and updating everything before our meeting with the Contractor and the clients of the Lito Key project! We cleaned up the office a little and for the first time we could see the cutest little book shelf that we have in our office (normally the samples are covering it so we never get to sit and enjoy the aesthetics of the black and white set up Mindy has going in here) 10/10 people 10/10.
As the meeting started, we got an idea of where our budget was at according to what has already been priced by reps as we walked through the floor plan of the home and the finishes room by room. AND WE GOT TO VISIT WITH A FLUFFY SPECIAL GUEST!!! YAY!!!!! Wow, I am such a dog person I absolutely had to take a picture. We finalized some small details of how different materials will be installed and just like that, the meeting flew by!! WOHOO WEEKEND!!!
