ITS A BEAUTIFUL DAY TO BE ALIVE HERE IN FLORIDA.

We were finally blessed with some beautiful weather, so I spent my Monday off at the beach each munchies and working on more schedules for the contractor for the big beautiful home Mindy Webb Design is doing in Leto Shores. Not such a bad day if I do say so myself??? Also, This cute, colorful shack is one of my favorite places in Florida...well me and all of my friend's favorite place. Love you Florida. Love the Beach. Never going back to Hattie.

TUESDAY

I started off my morning taking pictures of all of the many many (many) samples we are using for the Leto Shores home. A full blown renovation of the home from top to bottom... lets just say I had to delete a lot of photos on my phone to have enough storage for these photos :) Heres a picture of me reflected in a REALLY COOL antiqued mirror tile we are using in one of the powder baths. Once again... yes I take a lot of pictures, and yes this took a lot of time.

Once I finished up emailing the pictures to Mindy, we began putting in the flooring direction for the materials we have picked out for the project in Revit. A cute French pattern for the outdoor pavers around the pool, all the balconies, and the door step. A hexagon tile needed to match the door frame. A puzzle of flooring (which we ended up not labeling because we are just gonna have to go lay it ourselves, it's just too complicated. And a beautiful plank tile resembling wood running from the front door the the back and carried throughout the entire house. It took us the rest of our day to get all the technical details laid out, but I guess thats what being in this business is all about if you want YOUR design to come out the way YOU intended it to. just a thought :)

Wednesday!! Halfway there!!

My photoshop skills came in handy!!! I spent my day wednesday working on a business card layout and design and worked on creating a professional website for Mindy Webb Design on Wix. I guess you could say I am getting pretty good at this stuff? Today was a long day in the office to say the least. But today I learned,

1. I could definitely get a job solely off my photoshop skills

2. I am not nearly as bad at using the internet as I thought I was.

This is my view driving to the office. Makes the 1 hour trudge there and back much more enjoyable than you all think!!!

Thursday

Just the happiest Thursday EVER!!!!!! Big smiles for a big day!

Wow, okay so let me just tell you...I had the most interesting heart felt thursday!!! My morning started with my usual detour through the Starbucks drive thru...and today the family in front of my paid for my $11 breakfast!!! Yes. I cried. I felt so grateful and my heart was so full. I am currently waiting for the perfect moment to pay it forward and do the same for someone else. It is always wonderful to give back, you never know what someone is going through or if it could turn into a domino effect!!

Moving on with my day, I jammed to Reckless Love all the way to work because sometimes you just need a little early morning worship jam session in the car. Once I got to work I learned a new side of this business, not everything is always rainbows and butterflies. Sometimes when working with contractors on bidding...it comes back higher than you expected it to. And thats exactly what happened today. Sending all of us into panic mode, because we are so close to beginning demo!! But, its all about learning the business here for me. Sometimes you have to get more than one bid on a project even if you would prefer to work with someone particular. Today we just kept an open mind and got a second opinion on the job. We walked a new contractor through the project, through the clients needs, and through the materials we have already selected. This also gave me a wonderful opportunity to experience the bid process and see how different contractors can be! Some can be very detailed oriented and some can be more go with the flow "lets figure it out when we get there" and in that case you ultimately have to match your work style to theres to find out what will be best for everyone including the outcome of the project. Today was a LONG DAY. But it truly opened my eyes to a new side of the business.

The most beautiful view on that long Thursday from our client's balcony. Makes me wanna take a long VACAY ;)

FRIYAY

Yes, I know I always title it FRIYAY, but it's so hard not to...its always the most exciting day of the week.

We made it through the week!!! And now it is time to take a step back and work on some unfinished business...the website and the material library! A quick day of organizing catalogs, materials, and (of course) cute accessories to make the bookshelf cute!!!! Mindy and I began by creating her website (keep a lookout, its beautiful) and getting all of the technical stuff out of the way. Then we began to go through an organize all of the office, so we could have a fresh start when we take on our new projects! Not much to say about this day other than we got it all done!!!!

Just a little about how Mindy Webb Design works;

Mindy Webb Design is a design company here in Sarasota that takes on mostly (but not only) High-End Residential projects , and DOES AN AMAZING JOB. She has very modern, transitional taste but she is basically a pro at many many many different design styles. She uses local vendors in Sarasota for all of her samples and material selections, making it easier to communicate with the client and the source she is using for the selections made for the project. Her main focus is (but is not limited to) Renovations and some new construction, giving her good relationships with contractors, builders, and architects in the area. Due to the fact that most of her projects are around the greater Sarasota area, she has made good connections and gotten a good feel for what most of the client's want for their homes.

Update on my life (like I said I would):

Favorite new find:

Well everyone knows my love for gymshark...But the new Gymshark towel top is my new favorite find of the week. I am not kidding this is the most perfect top for your workout. Its not too long so it doesn't get in your way, and it is so flattering with the softest material!!! 10/10 I need more colors. Donate to my venmo and help a girl out. (kinda joking)

Current TV show binge:

Teen Wolf! Do not ask me why because I have no idea how this came about or how long it will actually last.

ALSO SO EXCITED BECAUSE ONE WEEK UNTIL THE BOLD TYPE COMES BACK ON!!!!!

Starbucks Drink of the week:

New drink!!! Great macros!!! This week I am drinking a Grande cold brew with cold foam, 1 pump hazelnut, 3 pumps sugar free vanilla, with soy milk in the brew. Its light and gives me the kick I need to be a good intern.

Jam of the week:

Guess I should say JAMZZZ,

Okay so

Country: Mustve Never Met You- Luke Combs

Rap: Spoil My Night- Post Malone

Alternative: It's Hard To Be Religious When Certain People Are Never Incinerated By Bolts Of Lighting- Mayday Parade (and yes thats the name of the song)

Hip-Hop: Solo- Demi Lovato

Christian: Reckless Love- Passion (can't get enough right now)

Things I'm looking forward to:

A weekend with my friends and planning a girls trip to the beach!!! WOHOOO.
