Carrington Court Memory Care
-Carrington Court Memory Care in South Jordan, Utah.
-Architecture Firm: HKG in Lake City, Utah
-Sq. Footage: n/a
-Year completed: 2007
-Carrington Court is an Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in South Jordan, Utah that offers specific activities and amenities for both sectors of their community. Specifically, in the Memory Care sector, they provide memory scrapbooks for each of their residents as a gift to the resident’s family that contains photos of their everyday activities. Activities may include pet therapy, exercise time, mind joggers, cooking and gardening.
-The Memory Care sector of the community has an enclosed layout with a large, secure courtyard in the center. The entry way has an enclosed reception desk to ensure secure entry and exiting. Multiple offices are located adjacent to the reception desk to keep them separate from the living space of the residents and ensure privacy for meetings with family members. The locked and secure medicine room is also located in the enclosed entryway to ensure the security of the medication away from residents and everyday guests. The corridors leading to the bedrooms are enclosed by double doors as well for security purposes of the residents. One notable thing about this floor plan is the way the larger common areas are outside of the corridors and centrally located for equal access by all residents, but I also enjoy the fact that there are small activity rooms, such as the salon and craft room, are located within the living corridors for easy access.
-Notable common spaces in Carrington Court include the secure courtyard, daycare space, salon, the craft room, dining room, private dining room, nurse room, sitting space, recreational area, and a public restroom. All of these spaces are centrally located and available to all residents. Each space is easily accessible and encourages socializing throughout the day.

Long Creek Senior Living and Memory Care

-Long Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care in Sunnyvale, Texas.
-Architecture/Interior Design Firm: Pi Architects
-Square footage: n/a
-Year Completed: 2017
-Long Creek has a very large layout with a central enclosed courtyard. The memory care sector is separated from the assisted living sector making it easier to care for those with different needs. Another notable aspect of this community is the fact that the memory care community has a smaller version of the activity spaces that are also offered to the assisted living community. But the memory care community still has access to the larger areas so they are not secluded from the community as a whole.
-Amenities and activities mentioned include memory games, art classes, religious services, walking club, dancing, and so many more. Common spaces include a luxary dining room accessible to all residents needs, a common living space, an enclosed courtyard, a private dining room, a private salon, a recreational space, and many many more.

Village Walk

-Village Walk in Pachogue, New York
-Architects: Pat Mixdorf of EGA Architects of Newburyport, Mass.
-Square Footage: 86,000 sq.ft.
-Year Completed: 2017
-Village Walk is a multi-story community in New York with the focus on assisted living and memory care. Each level houses residents with different levels of care while also providing each level with their own common spaces and focus areas. This organization method can be good in providing for those with extreme memory loss and those with early stage memory loss without taking away amenities from either party. Key features of this community include a pub, an internet lounge, multiple style salons, a theater, private and community dining, a wellness center, an activity center, and a sunroom.
